We are pleased to say that the cases coped extremely well and the challenge was a resounding success. “We were exceptionally impressed with how well they coped with the weather, altitude and conditions. Given they must have taken the odd knock on the way up, and on one mountain were exposed to consistent rain, we were very pleased to find that the cellos were completely unharmed by any of this. Perhaps most impressive of all is the way the tuning held – on two of the mountains I didn’t have to retune at all, and on the other two it was only a fraction of a semitone on one or two strings.
